MADISON, ILL. – A blazing pyrotechnic show isn’t the only thing hot coming out of this past Sundays Bommarito Automotive group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

FOX Sports announced on Monday, June 17 that the Sunday night prime-time NTT IndyCar Series event delivered an average audience of 1.012 million viewers. This was an 88% increase over last years race that saw a disappointing 537,000 viewers on Aug 17.

It was announced in February that FOX and the series shifted the race to a Father’s Day prime-time event from its originally scheduled late-summer afternoon time slot. This is the first time since 2016 that the two races following the Indianapolis 500 exceeded the 1 million viewer mark.

Sunday nights race that was won by Jupiter, FL native Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 Siemens Andretti Global Honda, peak viewership at 1.066 million viewers from 8:30-8:45 p.m. ET. The inaugural season for FOX Sports is trending 27% over last year with NBC Sports (1.577 million).
